Rebound hammer tests
Evaluation of the compressive strength of concrete in building works / building elements in accordance with DIN EN 13791:2007 by means of rebound hammer test.
By using the rebound hammer, a specific value is determined for the elastic behaviour of the concrete in layers near the surface from which, under certain prerequisites, a conclusion can be drawn as to the compressive strength. The test is performed in accordance with DIN EN 12504-2.
The determination of the compressive strength of building work concrete directly by means of tests on core samples constitutes the reference process. The compressive strength, however, can also be determined indirectly by means of other tests (rebound hammer) or through a combination of several processes.
The results may be used for estimating the characteristic compressive strength of the building work concrete and for classification under the appropriate strength class in accordance with DIN EN 206-1.
The rebound hammer test is performed with the SilverSchmidt ST Type N rebound hammer from Proceq.
